Data migration is the transfer of information under controlled conditions from existing sources to the new application.

Frequently clients have existing data regarding the target subject on their computer system. It is usually beneficial to utilise this data in the new capability to avoid re-keying of information. This data may be held in a legacy software application or in some proprietary format such as an Excel spreadsheet or Word table.

We will analyse the existing data and plan the migration of it to the new application. Where the existing data changes frequently, careful management is needed to bring the new capability into use with minimal disruption to business processes.
